Karla Gonzalez

Dr. Karla González is an Associate Professor and Interim Department Co-Chair at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's College of Humanities and Sciences. She serves as Interim Co-Director of ESOL Programs and teaches Spanish language courses for second-language learners, heritage speakers, and bilingual professionals.

Her research focuses on:

• Borderlands and transnational studies
• Cultural/political aspects of U.S. Latino communities

Key academic contributions include grant-funded research on heritage language preservation and immigrant literature analysis.
