Karine Chambefort-Kay

Karine Chambefort-Kay is a Senior Lecturer in Contemporary British Civilization and Visual Culture at Université Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne. She holds leadership roles as Co-Director of the Department of English and Head of the Master MEEF English program. Her academic affiliations include membership in CRECIB (Centre de Recherches et d’Études en Civilisation Britannique) and ARTS, a research society for visual arts in anglophone countries. She was elected to the Faculty of Arts Council and Pedagogy Commission.

Her research examines photography's role in shaping British cultural identity, collective memory, and social mobilization. Employing collaborative methodologies, she analyzes visual narratives of class, ethnicity, and nationalism.
