Karin Hess is a Researcher at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. She provides management support to Dr. Daniel Möckli, Head of the CSS thinktank. Her research focuses on the intersection of global security and geoeconomics, with additional expertise in Chinese foreign and domestic policies.
Education:
- BA in Chinese Studies (major) and Political Science (minor), University of Zurich
- Dual Master’s degree in Public Policy from Sciences Po Paris and London School of Economics
Prior to her current role, she worked at the Swiss Embassy in Beijing, supporting Olympic delegations and analyzing Chinese policies, and participated in the Junior Professional Program (JPP) at EFTA Geneva for trade negotiations and analysis.
