Karin Edmark

Karin Edmark is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI) at Stockholm University. She has been appointed to the Swedish Fiscal Policy Council, an independent authority focused on fiscal sustainability and macroeconomic balance.

• Research in labor market outcomes, education systems, gender equality, and social policy
• Active collaboration with international institutions like University College London and University of Bergen

Her work spans interdisciplinary projects, including analyses of preschool staff labor markets and secondary education effects, as well as school choice reforms in Norway.

As a member of the Labour Economics (AME) research group, she contributes to studies on wages, employment, health, taxation, and income transfers.
