Kari Zacharias is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Education at the University of Manitoba's Price Faculty of Engineering. Her research explores engineering knowledge and identity, particularly how engineering interacts with other ways of knowing, doing, and making. She investigates interdisciplinary approaches, art-technology intersections, critical pedagogy, and engineering humanities.
Education: Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies from Virginia Tech (2018)
Research focuses on: (1) inter/transdisciplinarity in engineering education; (2) critical pedagogy approaches; (3) engineering identity formation; (4) land-based learning; and (5) ethical dimensions of technological stewardship.
