Dr. Kari Sant is Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her research examines developmental origins of metabolic dysfunction, environmental toxicant impacts on organogenesis, and microplastic toxicity in aquatic systems.
She directs NIH-funded research on chemical-induced pancreatic toxicity using zebrafish models and leads interdisciplinary projects on environmental contaminants including DDT, PFAS, and tire wear particles. Her lab integrates computational and experimental approaches to predict toxicity mechanisms.
She teaches courses in Cellular, Molecular and Integrated Systems Pharmacology and mentors graduate students in toxicology research.
