Kari Bingen

Kari Bingen is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgetown University's Center for Security Studies (CSS). Previously, she served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (Deputy USD(I&S)), overseeing a $54 billion budget and directing defense intelligence/security priorities. She realigned investments to align with the National Defense Strategy, advanced AI/ML initiatives, and enhanced personnel/industrial security. Before government service, she worked in national security space policy at SRA International and The Aerospace Corporation, advising Congress on defense matters as House Armed Services Committee Policy Director. She holds a degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT and is a non-resident Senior Adviser at CSIS, and sits on Blue Origin, CalypsoAI, and Common Mission Project advisory boards.
