Karen Tefend is a Professor and Program Coordinator of Geology at the Dr. Perry College of Mathematics, Computing, and Sciences, University of West Georgia. She holds a B.S. in Zoology from The Ohio State University (1986), an M.S. in Geology from The Ohio State University (2000), and a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Michigan State University (2005).
Her research focuses on geological sciences with specialties in physical geology, historical geology, geochemistry, and environmental geochemistry. Her work examines mineralogical and geochemical properties of sedimentary rocks and environmental applications of geochemistry.
