Dr. Karen Lischinsky is a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Curry College. Her work focuses on restorative justice and trauma-informed interventions within correctional systems. She has facilitated healing groups for incarcerated individuals, correctional officers, and crime survivors. Dr. Lischinsky is the Executive Producer of Behind the Wall, a film addressing systemic trauma in U.S. prisons and jails, screened nationally. She also founded the Ring Resiliency Boxing Program (RRBP), a trauma-informed non-contact boxing initiative for correctional staff and community members affected by trauma. Her research emphasizes systemic change in criminal justice through dialogue and stress reduction strategies.
Dr. Lischinsky holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Northeastern University and an MSW from Boston University. Her professional activities include academic contributions, community programs, and advocacy for correctional system reform. She is based at Curry College’s Hafer Academic Building.
