Dr. Karen Jones is a Professor of Animal Science at Southern Illinois University (SIU) and serves as Associate Dean and Director of the SIU Graduate School. With a Ph.D. in Veterinary Physiology from Texas A&M University (1999), she is renowned for her pioneering work in cattle cloning and epigenetic research during the 1990s. Her research evolved to focus on the reproductive impacts of feeding endophyte-infected fescue to cattle and horses, while maintaining broader expertise in lipid metabolism and animal biotechnology.
