Karen Graffius is an Assistant Professor of Music at the University of West Georgia's School of Visual and Performing Arts, where she serves as Choral Director. She directs the Chamber Singers and Concert Choir while teaching courses in choral methods, voice techniques, and music education. With over 30 years of teaching experience at K-12 levels, Graffius brings extensive practical expertise to her university position.
Her professional focus includes choral directing techniques, music pedagogy for elementary education, vocal development methods, choral repertoire selection, and honor chorus direction. Graffius emphasizes practical skill development for future music educators.
Under her direction, the UWG Chamber Singers have performed at state conferences including the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference. Graffius currently serves as Youth and Activities chair for the Georgia chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
