Dr. Karam Jaradat is an Assistant Professor in Geotechnical Engineering within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Howard University's College of Engineering and Architecture. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Stony Brook University.
His research focuses on resilient geotechnical design through multiscale experimental and numerical techniques, including discrete element modeling of geomaterials. Dr. Jaradat's work integrates geomechanics principles with practical applications for infrastructure resilience.
Before joining academia, Dr. Jaradat worked as a professional engineer at Jacobs Engineering Group and Virginia Tech. He maintains professional engineering licensure in Virginia.
