Kar Way Tan

Kar Way Tan is an Associate Professor of Information Systems (Practice) and Director of the MITB (Analytics) Programme at the School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University. He holds a Ph.D. from Singapore Management University (2014) and teaches courses in Analytics Foundations, Analytics Applications for Smart Living, and Data Analytics Lab. His research spans artificial intelligence, data science, decision optimization, and health analytics.

Dr. Tan advises doctoral students including Joel Lim, Shaikh Ismail Sathakuthaby, Tan Ming Hui, and Teh Seng Khoon. His work focuses on leveraging analytics for smart living solutions and interdisciplinary applications in healthcare and wellness. He contributes to strategic priorities in digital transformation and technology-enhanced learning.
