Kane Allen

Kane Allen serves as Senior Lecturer and Program Lead for UG Primary Education (Years 1-2) at the School of Education and Childhood, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), where he drives initiatives to support underrepresented student communities.

His research and practice centers on EDI leadership in primary teacher education, with a specialization in outreach strategies for Black and minoritised students. He founded the 'Raise the Bar' initiative in 2023 to dismantle systemic barriers in higher education access through bespoke workshops addressing transition challenges for Black and Brown students. His work emphasizes community engagement and structural equity in educational pathways.

As Programme Lead for BA Hons Primary Education (QTS), Allen directs undergraduate curriculum development while spearheading outreach expansion—from 150 attendees at 'Raise the Bar 2024' to a targeted 300 participants in 2025. His outreach framework integrates motivational speakers with institution-specific navigation workshops to foster sustainable pipelines for underrepresented groups.
