Kamran Soomro

Dr Kamran Soomro is an Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the School of Computing and Creative Technologies, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). With over 10 years in academia, he holds a PhD in Computer Science and contributes to research and teaching in AI, big data analytics, and smart cities.

• Research Focus: Generative AI, Deep Learning, Digital Twins, Intelligent Systems, and participatory governance in smart cities.
• Teaching: Courses in Business Intelligence, Data Mining, Data Visualization, Web Programming, and Artificial Intelligence.
• Leadership: Mentor in UWE's Women’s Research Mentoring Scheme (WRMS) and Elevate Mentoring schemes.

His expertise spans distributed systems (clouds, grids), leading projects like H2020 Smarticipate and CURE, and collaborating with the NHS on data science for patient care. He is also a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College.
