Kamini Gupta is a Lecturer in International Business & Comparative Management at King’s Business School, King’s College London. She holds a PhD from London Business School and is actively engaged in research at the intersection of business and society. Her work spans strategy, international management, and entrepreneurship, with a strong emphasis on social issues such as caste, migration, privilege, and stakeholder engagement.
Her research explores how organizations manage multiple and conflicting goals, particularly in contexts where business intersects with societal challenges. She employs qualitative and configurational methods to study topics such as meaningful work, institutional voids, and social inequalities in global trade and migration.
Kamini’s publications appear in leading journals including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, and MIT Sloan Management Review. Her recent work examines the meaning of work for women in Kashmir, the role of privilege in migration, and the impact of caste in global business. These articles reflect a consistent focus on equity, inclusion, and organizational legitimacy in international contexts.

She is the co-investigator of a major ESRC-UKRI-ICSSR-funded project on UK-India trade, which investigates social network inequalities in trade relationships. Her work bridges academia and practice, with regular contributions to the Indian and British press and participation in practitioner events.
Kamini is actively involved in research leadership and impact initiatives, including advising on policy and engaging with social enterprises. She is not currently accepting new PhD students but has supervised research contributions in her domain.
