Kallol Ray

Prof. Dr. Kallol Ray is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Humboldt University of Berlin, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He leads the Ray Group, focusing on bioinorganic chemistry, mechanochemistry, and green chemistry. His research bridges catalysis, inorganic chemistry, and chemical biology.

Education: PhD (Summa Cum Laude) from the Max Planck Institute for Bioinorganic Chemistry (2001-2005), followed by postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute and the University of Minnesota. He became a Junior Research Group Leader at Humboldt University (2009-2015) before earning the Heisenberg Professorship (2016-present).

Research Interests: Development of sustainable chemical processes, mechanistic studies of bioinorganic systems, and application of mechanochemistry for green synthesis. Active in international conferences like the INCOME Conference and Mechanochemistry Meetings.
