Kalie Beckers

Kalie Beckers, PhD, DVM is an Instructor of Medicine at Tulane University. She holds a PhD (2023) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2024) from Louisiana State University, and an MS from Southeastern Louisiana University (2017). Her research focuses on nonhuman primate reproductive medicine, neonatology, and maternal-fetal interface dynamics. Her work explores maternal microbiome impacts on hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, particularly preeclampsia, and investigates cardiometabolic outcomes in offspring born to obese preeclamptic-like mouse models (BPH/5).

Her publications analyze sex-specific effects of maternal weight loss on offspring health, microbiome dysbiosis in obese pregnant individuals, and metagenetic insights into equine pregnancy microbiomes.
