Kali Rath

Kali Rath is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Notre Dame. He holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University (1992) and an M.A. from the same institution (1988). His research focuses on game theory, particularly large games and strategic behavior, as well as mathematical economics and microeconomic theory. He has contributed to foundational topics such as equilibrium existence, purification theorems, and social choice theory. His work frequently intersects with measure theory and probability, addressing complex models of large populations and strategic uncertainty.

Rath’s research also explores product differentiation, spatial competition, and economic inequality measurement. He has collaborated extensively on papers analyzing noncollusive pricing strategies and the insufficiency of traditional conditions for minimal differentiation. His teaching includes advanced microeconomics, game theory, and graduate-level economic theory courses.
