Kaleigh Margita

Kaleigh Margita is a Professional Track Faculty - Instructor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of South Carolina, affiliated with the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. She holds an M.S. in Biophysical Chemistry from North Carolina State University (2017) and a B.S. in Chemistry with a Biochemistry concentration and Spanish minor from Newberry College (2014). Her research focuses on biophysical chemistry, bioelectronics, and advanced spectroscopic techniques, including EPR and fluorescence imaging. Notable projects include studies on pH-sensitive probes and polymer transistor applications in barrier tissue analysis. She has presented at national conferences and won multiple research awards. Margita has extensive teaching experience, including General Chemistry courses at USC and Newberry College, and prior roles as an Environmental Manager and laboratory technician. Her technical expertise spans advanced instrumentation like SEM, NMR, and mass spectrometry.
