Kaitlin Landy is a Research Fellow at the University of Chicago, working with the Rowan and Gardel laboratories.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (with minors in Biochemistry and Sustainability Studies) from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where she conducted research in Prof. Christy Haynes' lab as part of the Center for Sustainable Nanotechnology.
- PhD in Chemistry from Northwestern University under the guidance of Prof. Chad Mirkin.
Her research focuses on the assembly of nanoparticles into colloidal crystals using DNA ligands, programming multicomponent crystal architectures, and characterizing structures with electron microscopy and small angle X-ray scattering. Currently, she is expanding her expertise into polymer chemistry and actin cytoskeleton materials.
Her primary research interests include Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Biophysics, Nanomedicine, and Colloidal Science.
