Dr. Kaisa Huhta is an Associate Professor of European Law at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) Law School and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Energy and Natural Resources Law. She holds a part-time professorship at the European University Institute’s Florence School of Regulation. Her expertise focuses on EU energy law, particularly the legal foundations of energy transition, climate policy integration, and regulatory frameworks for sustainable development. She leads major research projects such as the INTEL (ERC-funded) and FOUNDATIONS (Academy of Finland) projects, examining energy law’s role in decarbonization. Dr. Huhta also serves on the Finnish Market Court and advises on EU energy law matters.
