Kai Li

Kai Li is a Researcher at the Chair of Operations Management, Faculty of Economics, RWTH Aachen University. They joined the chair in July 2025 and specialize in environmental economics, plastic waste management, and global trade analysis.

• Research Focus: Environmental assessment of plastic waste treatment, counterfactual scenario modeling for global waste trade impacts, and carbon reduction in commercial building operations.
• Projects: Involved in the ACCESS (Active Carbon Capture for Sustainable Synthesis) project funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia (MKW NRW).
• Teaching: Supervises student theses during winter and summer semesters.
