Kai Jiang, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor and medical physicist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University and completed postdoctoral training including a research fellowship at Mayo Clinic and medical physics residency at University of Maryland Baltimore.
As lead physicist at the Veterinary Radiation Oncology Center (VROC), Dr. Jiang ensures precision delivery of radiotherapy to animal patients. His research focuses on developing advanced imaging technologies for disease diagnosis and innovating radiotherapy techniques for cancer treatment, with over 50 peer-reviewed publications in these areas.
His current investigations include FLASH radiotherapy techniques for organ-sparing treatment, small animal irradiation platforms, and quantitative imaging assessment of renal fibrosis. Dr. Jiang maintains expertise across multiple species including laboratory rodents, rabbits, and swine.
