Dr. Kahee Jo is a Lecturer in East Asian Studies at the School of Languages, Arts and Societies, University of Sheffield. Her research focuses on business power dynamics and economic development in East Asia, particularly examining how industrial policies shape state-business relationships. She holds a PhD in Development Politics from King’s College London, an MSc in International Development from the University of Manchester, and a BA in Political Science from Ewha Womans University.
Dr. Jo’s work analyzes EV policymaking in South Korea, green industrial strategies, and structural power of businesses. Her current projects explore business power in South Korea and the broader East Asian region, with a book manuscript under development investigating EV policy dynamics. She teaches EAS2043 Contemporary Korean Society and has held a postdoctoral fellowship at Freie Universität Berlin.
