About
Dr. KJ Goh is a Research Fellow in Microbiology at Monash University, currently investigating bacterial outer membrane porins and their role in virulence under Prof. Trevor Lithgow. Previously, he completed a PhD at Nanyang Technological University (2015-2020) and a postdoc at National University of Singapore (2020-2023), focusing on bacterial small RNAs in Klebsiella pneumoniae virulence regulation.
Education:
- PhD in Biological Sciences (Molecular mechanism of ribosome binding trGTPase BipA), Nanyang Technological University (2015-2020)
Research Interests:
- Membrane biology
- Bacterial virulence mechanisms
- RNA-mediated gene regulation
- Quiescence regulation in bacteria
Research Highlights: His work has uncovered RNA-RNA networks controlling bacterial surface proteins and identified OmrB's role in modulating Klebsiella virulence through kvrA mRNA regulation. Recent studies explore quiescent porins OmpK37/38's functional roles.
Collaborations: Active partnerships with institutions like The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Hebrew University of Jerusalem on sRNA research.
