K.D. Thompson

K.D. Thompson is the Evjue-Bascom Professor in the Humanities and Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, with affiliations in African Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Gender & Women’s Studies, and the Middle Eastern Studies Program. Their interdisciplinary research combines critical ethnography and critical discourse analysis to explore intersections of Islam, gender, sexuality, cultural identity, and language across Zimbabwe, Tanzania, North America, and digital spaces.
