About
K. Yeon Choi is a Research Professor in the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis & Immunology at Texas A&M University's School of Medicine. His research focuses on Human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) pathogenesis, vaccine development, and the relationship between viruses and cancer. He holds a BS from Texas A&M University (1990) and a PhD from the University of California, Davis (1997).
Research interests include studying HCMV's impact on fetal-placental units, congenital deafness mechanisms, and developing vaccines targeting viral tropism. Collaborations with Dr. Alistair McGregor explore novel vaccine strategies and cell-specific infection mechanisms. His work emphasizes guinea pig models to study congenital CMV transmission and immune responses.
