Jörn Steigerwald

Prof. Dr. Jörn Steigerwald is a full professor at the Institute of German Studies and Comparative Literature within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Paderborn. His research focuses on comparative literature and cultural studies, particularly exploring early modern literary theories and practices between 13th and 19th centuries.

• Editor of Artes: Journal of Early Modern Literature and Arts
• Co-editor of the Poesis book series
• Organizer of international conferences on early modern theater cultures

His scholarly work examines: 1) Poiesis concepts including allegory naturalization, 2) Literary 'anthropologia christiana', 3) Court society practices through gallantry studies, and 4) Cultural transfer models in European literature. He has received teaching excellence awards for online instruction during the 2020 pandemic semester.
