Jörg Stratmann

Prof. Dr. Jörg Stratmann is a Professor of Educational Science with a media education profile at the Weingarten University of Education since December 2010. He serves as Head of the Media Competence Center at the Institute for Educational Consulting since January 2018 and as Deputy Director of the Research Center for Educational Innovations and Professionalization (ZeBIP) since May 2012. His work focuses on media education in schools, introduction of digital media in educational organizations, and designing learning-friendly infrastructures.

His educational background includes:

• Diploma in Education from the University of Münster/Westphalia (2001)

Prof. Stratmann's research centers on media education, digital transformation in educational contexts, and the integration of digital media in schools. He explores how digital technologies can enhance teaching and learning processes while addressing the challenges of media competence development for both students and teachers. His work emphasizes practical applications of media-supported learning environments and the organizational aspects of implementing digital transformation in educational institutions.

His recent publications show a strong focus on digital competence development for pre-service teachers, strategic digital transformation in higher education, and media-supported learning environments. He has been instrumental in developing frameworks for integrating digital competencies into teacher education programs and has conducted significant research on media education in school contexts.

Prof. Stratmann has received numerous research grants and has been involved in major projects including Roberta Regiozentrum, Teacher Goes Digital (TeGoDi), and initiatives focused on countering Holocaust distortion on social media. His projects have been funded by organizations including the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), and the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg.

As an active member of the Protestant parish of Baienfurt-Baindt since 2020 and having completed preacher training in 2022-2023, he also explores the intersection of digital media and religious practice, particularly in the context of online worship services. He has given numerous lectures on digital transformation, media education, and the impact of AI on education and society.
