Jörg Raisch

Professor Jörg Raisch is a faculty member at the Department of Control Systems within the Institute for Energy and Automation Technology at Technical University of Berlin. He serves as a Participating Scientist in the Cluster of Excellence Science of Intelligence (EXC 2002), focusing on interdisciplinary AI and robotics research.

His research spans critical areas of control engineering:

• Distributed coordination of multi-layer networked systems
• Hybrid and hierarchical control architectures
• Discrete-event systems for industrial automation
• Process control applications in chemical engineering (e.g., enantiomer separation via crystallization)

Professor Raisch leads multiple DFG-funded initiatives including Priority Programs on distributed actor coordination and multi-agent consensus control. His current work in the Science of Intelligence cluster explores foundational AI principles through a control-theoretic lens, building on completed projects in finite automata approximation and time-weighted discrete-event systems.
