Prof. Dr. Jörg R. Werner is a Professor of Accounting at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. His academic career spans roles at the University of Bremen (Assistant Professor 2006–2011, member of Collaborative Research Center 597), and a Visiting Professorship at Jacobs University Bremen (2010). Born in 1978, he earned a Diploma in Business Studies (2003) and PhD (2006) from the University of Bremen, followed by Habilitation in 2011.
Werner's research focuses on international and comparative accounting with empirical methods, regulatory issues in accounting, and corporate governance. His work addresses topics like value relevance in cross-country studies, capital market responses to emission rights, earnings management strategies, and the impact of financial reporting governance.
