Justine Hastings

Justine Hastings is an Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of Washington and Vice President of People-Centered Science at Amazon. She previously held tenured professorships at Brown University and Yale University, with research affiliations at the National Bureau of Economic Research (2003-2023). Her PhD in Economics is from UC Berkeley.

Research focuses on:

• Consumer finance and healthcare economics
• Experimental methods in policy evaluation

Her recent publications analyze social safety net programs, education policy impacts, and healthcare interventions, using field experiments and large-scale data analysis.
