Justin Wolff is a Professor of Art History and Chair of the Department of Art at the University of Maine. He teaches courses in American art, modern/contemporary art, and art theory and criticism. His research spans 19th- and 20th-century American art and visual culture, with recent projects exploring cultures of catastrophe and intersections of art and science.

Education includes a B.A. from Bowdoin College (1992) and Ph.D. from Princeton University (1999). His publications include monographs on Thomas Hart Benton (2012) and Richard Caton Woodville (2002), alongside curated exhibition contributions. He has received the National Endowment for the Humanities Research Fellowship (2005-2006).
