Justin R. Anderson is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Biological Sciences at Southeastern Louisiana University since 2022. Previously, he served as Professor and Chair of Biology at Radford University (2016–2022). He holds a B.A. from Ripon College (WI), a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame, and completed postdoctoral training at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute. His research focuses on viral interactions with hosts and environments, including mosquito-borne diseases, environmental contaminants' effects on viruses, bacteriophage biology, crawfish aquaculture viruses, and human saliva virome studies. He oversees the Medical Entomology & Virology laboratory, mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers like Logan Jarrell (Master's student).
