Justin Kelly

Dr. Justin Kelly is an Associate Professor and Chair of Psychology and Counseling at Belhaven University since 2021. He holds licenses as a professional counselor in Mississippi and Louisiana and serves as a board-approved counseling supervisor in Mississippi.

Education:

• B.A., Delta State University
• M.Div., Th.M., Ph.D., New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary

Research and Clinical Focus:

• Trauma-informed care
• Interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory
• Gratitude and hope research
• Mental health disorders (mild to severe)
• EMDR and Emotionally Focused Therapy training

Dr. Kelly directs the honors psychology research program at Belhaven, mentoring students in original research presented at local and state-wide conferences. He also serves as Psychology and Social Sciences division chair at the Mississippi Academy of Sciences.
