Justin Kang

Justin Kang is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Liberal Arts and Sciences school of Otis College of Art and Design. He holds a BFA in Architecture/Landscape/Interiors from Otis and a Master of Architecture (MArch) from the University of Southern California (USC).

• Professional Roles: Current faculty at Otis, co-founder and head designer of a design-build firm in Orange County, and former project manager for the US Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon initiative.

Research Interests: His work focuses on sustainable architecture, zero-energy building facades, and design solutions for social impact. He has collaborated on projects like the FluxHome solar net-zero homes and the Minimal Relaxation installation at MOCA Shanghai. His practice integrates technology with environmental responsiveness in residential and commercial design.

Publications and Recognition: His projects have been featured in Daily Trojan, University of Southern California News, Inhabit, and Architizer, highlighting innovations in energy efficiency and architectural installations.

Community Engagement: He serves on the board of a non-profit organization addressing global poverty through housing, education, and healthcare initiatives, focusing on permanent structures in Peru.
