Justin J. Morris is a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Toronto's Cinema Studies Institute (CSI). He holds a PhD and MA in Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto, alongside a BA in English from the University of Alberta. His research focuses on feminist film historiography, intermediality, and women's creative production in Hollywood.

His dissertation project, Constellated Media: Serial Stars, Feminist Film Historiography, and Intermedial Hollywood, redefines media analysis by examining promotional materials, merchandise, and other non-film artifacts as alternative creative sites for women in post-WWII Hollywood. His current project explores Anne Murray's CBC TV specials from the 1970s–80s through a media studies lens.

His publications appear in The Velvet Light Trap, CineAction, Discourse, and the Canadian Journal of Film Studies. He also contributed to the book The Soundtrack Album: Listening to Media (Routledge, 2020).
