Justin Beebe is a Professor and Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at Simmons University, where he joined the faculty in July 2013. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at the University of South Dakota for five years. A licensed physical therapist in Massachusetts since 2000, he practices in orthopedic and sports physical therapy settings. Dr. Beebe is actively involved in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and its academies, including leadership roles as Chair of the Abstract Review Committee for the Academy of Physical Therapy Research.

Dr. Beebe's research focuses on the integration of psychological principles into physical therapy, a framework he terms the Therapeutic Experience. His work includes exposure therapy for children with chronic pain and fear of movement (GET Living), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for fibromyalgia, and studies on flow state and exercise-induced cortical hypofrontality in DPT students. He is exploring the use of breathwork, music, and biofield sciences to enhance healing and improve patient outcomes through clinical setting manipulations. Recent publications and presentations emphasize biomechanics, chronic pain rehabilitation in youth, and systematic reviews of kinesiophobia in cancer-related pain.
Dr. Beebe is a member of the APTA, the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, the Academy of Physical Therapy Research, and the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy. He has served as a manuscript reviewer and abstract evaluator for multiple professional organizations.
