Junyi Liu, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Economics at Soka University of America, serving as the Pacific Basin Coordinator. He holds a PhD in Economics from Indiana University Bloomington, an MA in Economics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and dual BAs in Economics and Governance with an MA in Finance from Peking University.
His research focuses on international economics, Chinese economic development, and public health economics. Notable themes include RMB exchange rates, corruption’s economic impacts, and health-economy interlinkages.
Dr. Liu teaches courses such as International Economics, Economic Development, and Macroeconomics. He has led field trips to Beijing, Hong Kong, Macao, and San Francisco through Learning Cluster programs.
