June Yong

Dr. June Yong is a Research Fellow in Applied Chemistry and Environmental Science at RMIT University, specializing in functional nanomaterials including perovskite nanocrystals, plasmonic nanoassemblies, and 2D oxides. Her research explores light-matter interactions for applications in optoelectronics, flexible biosensors, and photo/electro-catalysis. With a PhD from Monash University (2022), she has published over 27 papers in high-impact journals including Advanced Materials and ACS Nano, receiving the Royal Society of Chemistry's Horizon Prize in 2023.

Current projects focus on developing 2D floating photothermal-photocatalytic devices for hydrogen production and bionic vision systems incorporating optoelectrical nanomaterials. Her research bridges nanotechnology, materials chemistry, and sustainable energy solutions, with recent publications demonstrating innovations in nanomaterial synthesis, characterization, and device integration.
