Dr. June Yong is a Research Fellow in Applied Chemistry and Environmental Science at RMIT University, specializing in functional nanomaterials including perovskite nanocrystals, plasmonic nanoassemblies, and 2D oxides. Her research explores light-matter interactions for applications in optoelectronics, flexible biosensors, and photo/electro-catalysis. With a PhD from Monash University (2022), she has published over 27 papers in high-impact journals including Advanced Materials and ACS Nano, receiving the Royal Society of Chemistry's Horizon Prize in 2023.
Current projects focus on developing 2D floating photothermal-photocatalytic devices for hydrogen production and bionic vision systems incorporating optoelectrical nanomaterials.
