Jun Sudduth

Jun Sudduth is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Indiana University Bloomington’s Hamilton Lugar School. Her research focuses on political violence, authoritarian politics, civil-military relations, and the interplay between domestic and foreign policy. She previously served as a Reader (Associate Professor) at the University of Strathclyde in the UK.

Her current book project investigates how autocratic leaders consolidate power through elite purges, supported by a Leverhulme Research Fellowship. Her work has appeared in Comparative Political Studies, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Research, and Journal of Politics. Funding sources include the British Academy, Carnegie Trust, Leverhulme Trust, and the Research Council of Norway.
