Jun SUZUKI

Jun SUZUKI is a Professor and Deputy Director of the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Program at GRIPS, Tokyo. He holds a Ph.D. in Advanced Interdisciplinary Engineering from the University of Tokyo. His research focuses on Science and Technology Policy, Innovation Management, and the empirical analysis of patent valuation and policy impacts. He has held roles including Director of the Admissions Office, Visiting Researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy, and 2016 FFJ/Michelin Fellow.

**Education**: B.Sc. (Molecular Biology) from Kyoto University (1984), Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo (2002).

**Research Interests**: Innovation dynamics, public R&D funding effects, patent analysis, university-industry collaboration, and policy evaluation. His work emphasizes empirical studies using patent databases and policy impact assessments.

**Awards**: Recipient of the 2016 FFJ/Michelin Fellowship for research on patent value evaluation and academia-industry linkages. Also served as Faculty Fellow at RIETI (2007-2010).

**Contributions**: Active in policy advisory roles, including the Industrial Structure Council (METI), NEDO Research Evaluation Committee, and committees for intellectual property databases. Serves as Vice President of the Japan MOT Society and member of multiple academic societies.
