Dr. Julius Paul Wesche is a Researcher at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture (KULT). He is also part of the NTNU Energy Transition Initiative. Between 2014 and 2021, he worked as an associate researcher at the Competence Center Energy Policy and Energy Markets at Fraunhofer ISI in Karlsruhe, Germany.
His research interests span energy policy, innovation studies, and societal acceptance of energy technologies. He actively engages in science communication, hosting podcasts like NTNU Energy Transition Podcast, Science Communication Accelerator Podcast, and enPower Energiewende Podcast. In 2021, he founded the Science Communication Accelerator, a knowledge hub focused on digital science communication strategies, and advises universities on leveraging social media for outreach and branding.
His publications demonstrate a focus on energy transition challenges, including policy frameworks for carbon capture technologies (DACCS/CCUS), socio-technical system dynamics, and organizational prosumerism. Upcoming book projects (2025) include "Introduction to Sustainability Transitions Research" (co-edited) and "Science Communication with Social Media" (authored).
