Julio Revuelta

Julio Revuelta is an Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Cantabria. He holds a PhD (2012) and MSc (2008) from the University of País Vasco, University of Cantabria, and University of Oviedo. He has been a visiting researcher at Politecnico di Milano (2013) and Trinity College Dublin (2011).

His research focuses on income distribution dynamics, public policy evaluation in the European Union and Latin America, and the impact of fiscal policies on socioeconomic equity. Key areas include the analysis of austerity measures in Greece, long-term fiscal trends in Latin America, and the role of European institutions in shaping utility sector regulations.

Revuelta’s work bridges economic history with contemporary policy challenges, emphasizing empirical approaches to evaluate regulatory frameworks and their impact on social welfare.
