Juliet Brodie is Professor of Law at Stanford Law School and Faculty Director of the Haas Center for Public Service. She directs the Community Law Clinic in East Palo Alto, which provides legal services to low-income communities. Her scholarship examines poverty law, eviction systems, and community lawyering models.
Her research analyzes housing insecurity, tenant rights, and the impacts of eviction policies. Recent work focuses on rental assistance programs and legal reforms to prevent displacement. She co-edits the textbook 'Poverty Law, Policy, & Practice'.
Publications consistently address systemic inequities in housing justice, with empirical analyses of eviction patterns and policy proposals for tenant protection.
As Peter E. Haas Faculty Director, she oversees university-wide public service initiatives. She previously served as Associate Dean of Clinical Education and contributes to diversity/inclusion efforts at Stanford.
