About
Julien Cassaigne is a Research Fellow at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and a core member of the Dynamics, Arithmetic, Combinatorics (GDAC) team at the Institute of Mathematics of Marseille (I2M), a joint research unit (UMR 7373) of CNRS, Aix-Marseille University, and Centrale Marseille. His primary institutional base is the Luminy Campus (Case 907, 13288 Marseille Cedex 9), one of I2M's two major sites in Marseille.
His research spans the interconnected domains of dynamical systems, arithmetic combinatorics, and symbolic dynamics, with emphasis on sequence complexity, ergodic theory, and number-theoretic applications. This work bridges theoretical computer science and pure mathematics, particularly exploring pattern avoidance in infinite sequences and spectral properties of substitution systems.
Contact details include email julien.cassaigne@math.cnrs.fr and telephone +33 (0)4 91 26 96 67. As an active researcher, he participates in I2M's seminar series including the Rauzy Seminar, contributing to Marseille's status as a hub for mathematical research in dynamical systems.
