Julie Thole

Julie Thole, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Saint Louis University's College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches undergraduate courses including Principles of Biology I/II and Molecular Techniques Lab.

Thole's research focuses on plant molecular genetics and cell biology, particularly using Arabidopsis to study:

• MUB protein functions in plant development
• Abscisic acid regulation of root elongation
• Phosphoinositide signaling in membrane trafficking
• Cell polarity and adhesion mechanisms

Her recent publications explore hormone interactions in root development, prenylation effects in moss cells, and lipid signaling dynamics. Collaborations include work with Brian Downes, Ph.D., and L.C. Strader.
