Dr. Julie Karel is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Monash University, Australia. She holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and has conducted postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute in Germany. Her research focuses on manipulating magnetic and electronic properties of advanced materials via thin film techniques and electric fields, particularly in spintronics and topological materials. She leads the Karel Lab, which explores applications such as novel computing devices and magnetic data storage.
