Julie Bertram

Dr. Julie Bertram is an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Nursing, specializing in psychiatric child and adolescent mental healthcare with clinical nurse specialist certification. Her research focuses on improving mental health outcomes for children in foster care through system-level interventions and trauma-informed approaches.

Her research interests include psychiatric nursing, foster care systems, trauma-informed interventions, and implementation science. She developed the copyrighted Wrap Around Wellness Program to improve health outcomes through trauma-informed care coordination.

Recent publications focus on trauma interventions, psychotropic medication management in foster care, and international research collaborations. Her work consistently addresses mental health equity and system improvements.
